James Hanis - Experienced Architect and Design Manager in Orlando

James Hanis Architect

A registered member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Board, James Hanis serves as design manager with Walt Disney Imagineering in Orlando, Florida. An experienced architect, he brings a wealth of experience to his work at Walt Disney Imagineering. Prior to joining with Disney, he served as city architect with the public works department of the City of Daytona Beach, Florida, where he oversaw many critical aspects of citywide planning, design, and construction for the residents of Daytona Beach. Furthermore, James Hanis lent his professional advice and expertise to various city departments as well as groups and organizations devoted to registering and preserving historic landmarks. He also served as a member of the city’s development review committee.

Previously, Mr. Hanis worked as a project manager with the Orlando-based Orange County Capital Projects Division. During his time there, he designed the masterplan and was involved in a land-use amendment with regard to Daytona Beach’s urban beachside area and surrounding public landmarks, including the Daytona Beach Bandshell and Oceanfront Park Complex. He holds a bachelor of arts and master of arts in architecture from the University of Florida.
